One of the things we have always been committed to is offering support and opportunities to young people who are interested in engineering as a career. Over the years, we have established a social support budget to fund this commitment, and sponsored or funded a number of initiatives, although this necessarily had to be reduced during the pandemic.

The aerospace industry is navigating a significant period of change. This change is driven by a number of key factors, including the impact of the Covid pandemic, the urgent need to tackle climate change, and the pressure on budgets for new projects.

In our industry, no project gets off the ground without completing certification .It’s how we prove that the design, engineering and construction are safe. So the certification process is necessarily one of the most important parts of the project.

Good projects rely on the knowledge and expertise that has been built up within the team and within the business. If organisations don’t have a knowledge management system in place, that expertise can be completely lost when an individual leaves or a project is being managed in isolation.

Often we hear one of the biggest worries for programme managers thinking about outsourcing is whether their external partner will be fully committed to the project. The final unit of one of Cascade Engineering’s earliest projects, the Poseidon anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare aircraft, already in operation in the USA, Australia and India, has now been delivered.  This is the final unit in a nine-aircraft order for the RAF.

Cascade Engineering, a leading specialist in concept-to-certification engineering design, is celebrating a milestone for the first in class, Type 26 HMS Glasgow. The ship, which is a BAE Systems Maritime project, is currently being built at the Govan shipyards in Glasgow, and has just celebrated the successful installation of the foremast.
